The Taiwanese version of Hana Kimi was the first one to be aired, in 2006. It starred Ella Chen as Rui Xi, the cross-dressing heroine, Wu Chun as Zuo Yi Quan, the high jumper, and Jiro Wang as Jin Xiu Yi, the comic relief. The drama was a hit among fans and received high ratings. It also spawned a sequel in 2007, called Hana Kimi Special Edition, which was a four-episode mini-series that wrapped up the story.
The Tagalog version of Hana Kimi Taiwan was broadcasted by ABS-CBN in 2008. It was dubbed by Filipino voice actors and actresses, such as Sarah Geronimo as Rui Xi, Gerald Anderson as Zuo Yi Quan, and Enchong Dee as Jin Xiu Yi.
